Laurel Caryn


Laurel Caryn is a Professor (Lecturer) at the University of Utah, where she teaches studio classes in Darkroom Photography, 19th Century Photographic Processes, and Senior Photo Portfolio. Since graduating with an MFA in photography from the University of Utah in 1989, Caryn has continued her research into alternative photo processes, while watching film itself become an archaic technique with the advent of digital. Her work incorporates installation, staged photography, and mixed media. Currently she is working with dioramas on fabric after Louis Daguerre.
