Artists of Utah is now accepting submissions for our 35×35 exhibition, coming to Finch Lane Gallery, Mar. 13 – Apr. 24. This exhibition is open to all Utah artists 35 years old and younger.
What Is It?
35×35 is Artists of Utah’s showcase of work by Utah’s young generation of visual artists. Occurring every three and a half years, this exhibit features work by 35 artists 35 years old or younger, providing the artists with a unique exhibition opportunity as well as extended media coverage to help further their career.
How It Works:
The 35×35 exhibition is open to all artists born after March 12, 1984, and residing in the state of Utah (part-time residents, including students, are eligible).
All eligible submissions are considered by the Artists of Utah Board of Directors. Following a blind process that considers only images and an artist statement, the board will choose 35 artists to be featured in the exhibition. Staff and board members will curate a show featuring work by these 35 artists.
After the exhibit has been hung, three independent jurors will each select a work to be given a Juror’s Award. A People’s Choice award is selected by voting ballots collected from gallery patrons over the duration of the exhibition. The Board of Directors will choose one artist to receive a Board of Directors Award. That artist will be invited to sit on the board of Artists of Utah.
Collected entry fees will be used for cash prizes, artist profile video productions, promotional materials, website publications and installation expenses associated with the 35×35 exhibition. All artists who submit an entry will be given the opportunity to create an artist listing on the Artists of Utah website free of charge.
Submission Deadline: January 15, 2020
