Elizabeth DeWitte

Elizabeth Dewitte was born in Montreal, Quebec and is now living in Ogden, Utah. She received her MFA from the University of Utah in 2000. Elizabeth’s graduate work was dedicated to the exploration of how a visual artist could inform the general public regarding the uniqueness of the Great Salt Lake, the essential ecosystem and wetland environment, and, most specifically, the roughly 250 different species of birds that thrive in this important migratory corridor. Elizabeth has also worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for various companies in the United States as well as abroad. Elizabeth is most proud of her volunteer work in the form of artwork for organizations such as Friends of Great Salt Lake, Ogden Nature Center, Saint Joseph Catholic Schools, and Friends of Children’s Justice Center.

Elizabeth currently teaches art at the University of Utah. Her most recent focus is in environmental sustainability and how working artists and instructors of art can incorporate the concept of sustainability in their artwork and classrooms.
